Frequently asked questions.

How much do therapy sessions cost?

Online (via Zoom video call) - individual 50min session - £60
In-Person (London Bridge and Greenwich) - individual 50min session - £75

Do you offer concessionary rates?

Yes, I offer concessions for full-time students, please get in touch if this applies to discuss further. Concessionary rates are subject to individual circumstances and available space.

How do I get started?

If you’re interested in working with me, then send me an email, drop me a text or call, or fill out the contact form on this site. I offer discounted introductory sessions (£40 online & in-person) so that you can get a taste of what working together might look like, then if we’re a good fit and you want to move forward we can decide a suitable schedule to meet either weekly or fortnightly dependent on your needs.

Do I need to commit to weekly or fortnightly therapy?

If you are a new client, I would recommended that you attend weekly at least initially, as it aids in building the therapeutic relationship, which the research shows is the most consistent predictor of positive outcomes in therapy. Fortnightly therapy can also work, particularly for longer term clients who would appreciate ongoing support.

I believe making the commitment to consistent weekly or fortnightly sessions can encourage you to attend in times of resistance (when you often need it most) and can help gain momentum and notice any patterns that emerge in the work.

These are of course only my recommendations, and I understand the need for flexibility and happy to discuss alternative needs on a case by case basis.

How do I pay for sessions and what are your payment terms?

Payments are made direct via bank transfer, with details for payment provided in confirmation email upon making the final booking. Payment is due at least 24hrs prior to the agreed session time. If payment hasn’t been made within this timeframe, your slot may be released.

What is your cancellation policy?

There is no charge if a session is cancelled at least 24hrs ahead of the agreed session time. If a session is cancelled less than 24hrs prior to the agreed session time, the full session fee is due. If I for any reason need to cancel a session, I will notify you asap and there will be no charge.

How long are therapy sessions and how many sessions do I have?

Each therapy session is 50 minutes long. I work on an ‘open-ended’ basis, meaning there is no set number of sessions, instead we work on a rolling basis with regular check-ins to review ongoing progress, and continue to work with shared agreement on approach and frequency of session.

Will I have a specific time slot, or a flexible schedule?

I recommend that we initially agree a consistent regular time-slot, not only for practical simplicity but because consistency can aid the therapeutic frame we work within. However, I also understand the need for flexibility, whether that be to changing life circumstances or job shift patterns, and so I suggest we have a slot as default, and adjust as and when needed. This can of course be discussed in our initial consultation.

What is your therapeutic approach?

I work in an integrative way, informed by relational, humanistic and psychodynamic approaches to therapy. You can click on the ‘About’ section of this site to read some more.

Are sessions confidential?

As a member of BACP I am bound by their Ethical Framework to protect a client’s confidentiality. Therefore, everything that we discuss is confidential, except in certain circumstances, which are listed below:
- Supervision: it is a requirement of all therapists to have a personal supervisor with whom the therapy work can be discussed, but I will not share your full name or any identifiable information.
- Risk/Safeguarding: if I have reason to believe you are at serious risk of harm to yourself or others, for example if you have declared a clear and definite intention to end your life, then confidentiality may need to be broken - I will attempt to discuss this with you and my supervisor first, but this may not always be possible.
- For legal and ethical reasons, I am not bound by confidentiality if in good faith I feel I can assist in prevention of a serious crime, including safeguarding issues regarding children or vulnerable adults, crimes regarding substantial financial loss or gain, and acts of terrorism.

Are you insured?

Yes, I am fully insured with professional indemnity cover.
